Meriläinen Müsic Inc. is a full-service record label providing professional music industry services to emerging and established artists. We tailor our services to meet our clients’ needs including recording, production, distribution, sync placement, PR, radio tracking, management, consulting and more.
Meriläinen Müsic Inc. has 16 releases in the past 4 years from various artists and have assisted our artists in reaching their career goals by increasing the number of festival performances, showcasing at various music conferences including Folk Alliance International, Folk Music Ontario, Breakout West and being nominated for music industry awards. Many of our artists have also charted on music charts across Canada including the Indigenous Music Countdown.
The Meriläinen Müsic Inc. team has over 30 year’s experience actively working in the music industry. Led by Marc Merilainen, his early days as creator and performer of the multi-award nominated contemporary Indigenous rock project NADJIWAN to currently producing the next wave of musical artists, Marc has worked with numerous artists to help launch and further their career development. In addition to writing and producing acts Marc has also promoted and produced various live shows and events including Planet IndigenUs at Harbourfront Centre and the Original People, Original Songs concert series.
Meriläinen Müsic Inc. was started in 2019 because Marc realized that there was not only a need for artists to record their material, but to also get it out to the public once it was recorded. Many independent artists lack proper distribution and marketing of their recordings which is a major barrier to achieving a career in music. Our goal is to provide them not only with an avenue for distribution, but to also teach them how the music industry operates. Together with his wife, Laura, they now run the record label and recording studio serving all artists, while also specializing in serving the Indigenous Artist community.
Laura Meriläinen
With over 20 years experience in project management, financial and professional services, Laura’s expertise has helped clients make informed decisions as well as meet their business and professional goals. Laura brings a common-sense approach and skills in budgeting, organization and focus to the music industry. Laura’s problem solving and interpersonal skills give her the ability to handle all aspects of the industry from technical issues to artist nurturing.
